I love when I get to photograph families year after year. I get to see how much the kids have grown and watch how the family has evolved. Last week I got do just that. I photographed this family last year when it was freezing outside and this year it was extremely hot outside. Either way, this family was really fun to chase around and capture them playing and laughing together. Here are a few images from their session.
Josh said it perfectly when saying his vows to Madison…”I am your Clark Kent and you are my Lois Lane”. They just fit together like no other. Their wedding on August 1, 2015 was exactly the same. Everything happened the way they wanted. Madison and her girls woke up early to have their hair styled at Kramers Hair Salon. After their hair was finished, they went back to Executive Suites to have their make up applied by Jessica and get ready for the ceremony. Madison looked stunning in her beautiful Vera Wang wedding gown which worked perfectly with the fastener in her hair. Once the girls were ready, we headed to the Band Stand at Wascana Park where Josh waited with his groomsmen and guests. The ceremony was short and sweet while they pledged their personal vows to one another. Once their marriage was sealed with a kiss, Madison and Josh had their photos taken with family, friends, and finally each other. Here is the blog of their wedding day.
There are times where brides and grooms choose wedding venues based on some kind of connection to the location. Kristen and Jeff were one of these couples. Their country wedding took place on Jeff’s family farm near Kelvington, SK, Canada. Generations of his family have lived here and there are still remenants of their history. An old church where Jeff’s family had preached is a historical building on their property. Although the inside has changed, what remains on the blackboard is a bible scripture written many years ago. The first house Jeff’s parents built on the yard was named the Canonball and is one of other historical buildings that has continued to stand in the yard. Kristen and Jeff wanted to continue that family tradition, as they have also built a cabin in the yard. So the most obvious place to proclaim their love for one another was in this very yard. Friends and family traveled to share their day and many people brought their trailers and motorhomes where they celebrated for days prior to the wedding. Finally on July 23, 2015, Kristen and Jeff were married surrounded by close family and friends. Kristen stayed in the log cabin with her girls while Jeff and the guys got ready in the motorhome. The ceremony took place on Jeff’s parents front yard next to the old church. Afterwards we used quads to navigate the yard and shoot in areas that have a lot of personal meaning. Once the formal wedding photos were complete, the reception was held in their quonset. And the day was not complete without trashing Kristen’s dress. She decided to go quadding through the mud in her dress, where everyone came to cheer her on. Here is their day. Enjoy!!!
When Danielle and Tyler asked me to photograph their wedding. I was pretty ecstatic. I orginally had met Tyler as he is a fellow photographer and we hit it off quite well. He spoke of his girlfriend/fiance and how amazing she is, etc and I knew that his love for Danielle was one of a kind. Then I finally got to meet Danielle at Sask Fashion Week and she was such a genuinely sweet person and watching them together, there was just something that made them fit perfectly together. As I got to know them more as a couple through our meetings or texts and photographing their engagement, I loved the humour they shared and their bond. But what really struck me was that they are truly one another’s best friend. On their wedding day, their love and friendship was vowed to one another surrounded by their family and friends. The wedding day wasalso filled with all of their personal touches which made it even more special. Danielle started her day off with her bridesmaids at Elements Hair Design, followed by make up at Sara Lindsay Studio. I traveled to Tyler and Dani’s home to photograph the guys and Tyler opening his gift from Danielle, then went to photograph the girls getting ready at Dani’s parents home. At the house, Danielle’s mom sewed an elephant heirloom into Dani’s dress, as it was sewn into many women in Dani’s family ahead of her. Her Manolo Blahnik wedding shoes were a wedding gift from her brother Sean. Their wedding ceremony was performed at the church where Danielle’s parents were married. And finally, the reception following was held at the WaWa Shrine Temple, where Dani’s grandfather has been a member for many years. Thank you Dani and Tyler for letting me photograph your wedding!!
Brooke and Drew and their family just have that special bond with one another. The respect and trust and love they have together makes my heart melt. There were a few tears that day and some were even hiding behind my camera. 🙂 Their wedding ceremony was in the evening so we had all day to capture some pretty wonderful moments. Beginning at Daniel Christopher Salon, to their home, and the girls getting ready at the Hilton Doubletree Inn and finally to Brooke and Drew’s first look and the photos afterwards. Here is their blog post. Enjoy!!
