I have been practicing yoga on and off for quite a few years. A little over a year ago, I met Brenna who owns Pure Living Yoga (which is located in White City, SK). She had this wonderful energy which I was immediately drawn to and I have been practicing with her since that time. If you practice yoga, you would know that some pretty cool things start to happen while you practice. Besides the physical benefits, the ability to be still, to connect and to surrender within yourself leaves one feeling so good. I really wanted to do a shoot where I could follow someone to that place they go when they practice. I am so grateful that Brenna allowed me to follow her there. The shoot captured her energy perfectly. Another yoga teacher, Shea, practiced for a litle while. His inversions and peaceful yet strong energy was certainly present in this shoot. Thank you both for letting me photograph you.
50 years of marriage to someone is pretty incredible. You have obviously been through many experiences together both good and bad. And through it all is the constant element of love. That in itself is quite powerful. This family celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by having family photos and later a party which includes most of their wedding party. I think it was a fantastic way to celebrate. Here are a few from their session.
What better way to catch up on blogging family sessions then the American Thanksgiving?! For me, Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on my family and how grateful I am for so many things. This family was super fun to photograph as I loved their sense of wonder and playfulness. Here is their blog post.
I loved everything about Natasha and Riley’s wedding! First of all, they are such a wonderful couple. I feel so grateful that I was chosen to document their day. When I arrived in the morning to start photographing them, they both were so calm and ready to be married. They enjoyed the company of their wedding party and family and just seemed to soak up every minute of excitement for the rest of their day. The wedding ceremony was held at The Artisian where they said pronounced their vows for one another. Afterwards the reception was at The Owl with many of their family and friends in attendance. Here is a sneak peek into their wedding day. Enjoy!
Madison and Dan are one of those couples where you feel like you have known them forever. They are just so outgoing and friendly and know how to throw a good party. I photographed their engagement session around Christmas last year where they played hockey on a dug out and brought their rescue pup Roy along. I loved that session and I knew that their wedding would be amazing. And of course their wedding was just that, AMAZING! Dan and his groomsmen started getting ready at their home while Maddie and her girls got ready at Madison’s parents house. Madison’s two piece dress was gorgeous along with her hair piece and flowers. Once they were ready to be married, they had their first kiss as husband and wife under a tent in Madison’s brother’s back yard. Originally, they were supposed be married without a tent, but the weather had other ideas. Rain poured into the night and then day of their wedding, however, everything turned out perfect. The tent overflowed with guests and afterwards they celebrated late into the evening at the Turvey Centre. Here is their wedding day. Enjoy!
